Thaumium is a magical metal, created by adding an iron ingot to 4 Praecantatio in a Crucible.

Thaumonomicon Entry Edit

Metals have proven to be quite easy to manipulate via thaumaturgical principles. Your first experiments have led to discovery of Thaumium. Thaumium is the result of infusing base metals with raw magical energy. The result is a metal harder than iron with the ability to accept enchantments beyond that which iron is normally capable of. A metal such as this has many applications in the crafting of more advanced thaumaturgical devices. It can also be used to craft tools, arms and armor in a crafting table using the normal recipes.

Research Edit

The research requires you to do a link between Metallum and Praecantatio.

Recipe Edit

Crucible Edit

4 Praecantatio

1 Iron Ingot

Throw in the ingot when you have the correct amount (or more) of the required essentia in the crucible

It can be used to craft tools, arms and armour in a crafting table using the normal recipes. These tools will last longer than iron tools and will recieve enchantments equivalent to golden tools. The tools and armor can in turn be infused to produce many more advanced items, namely the Thaumium Fortress Armor and the Elemental tools. Thaumium is also in many crafting recipes.

Tips Edit

  • Because Thaumium is used in many recipes, it may be a good idea to keep a stockpile of it.
    • Also, it may be useful to automate its production in the later game.
