Taint Spore Swarmers are blockish-like mobs that spawn naturally in Tainted Land and have 75 health.

Appearance[]

Taint Spore Swarmer Habitat

A Taint Spore Swarmer in its natural habitat, nested within the blocks of Crusted Taint.

Taint Spore Swarmers take on the appearance of a hollow crusted taint block, with a moving purple spore beneath it.

Small purple blobs of Taint Swarms(visual effect only) will continuously circle the Taint Spore Swarmer. The closer the Taint Spore Swarmer is to spawning a Taint Swarm, the number of purple blobs will increase, until it spawns one, where the number of purple blobs decreases to 0.

Spawning[]

Taint Spore Swarmers are found in the Tainted Land biome, where they will camouflage amongst the blocks of crusted taint. This can make it difficult to spot them in the biome.

Behaviour[]

Taint Swarmers continuously spawn Taint Swarms, with a 25-second delay between each spawn, if a player is within 16 blocks of one. If the player leaves, the delay will continue to countdown to 0 but the Taint Spore Swarmer will not spawn any Taint Swarms, until a player approaches that Taint Spore Swarmer.

Taint Spore Swarmers do not spawn Taint Swarms when the player is under the effect of Invisibility. However, they still spawn Taint Swarms when bumped by invisible players or when killed.

When killed, Taint Spore Swarmers will immediately spawn a Taint Swarm.

If a Taint Spore Swarmer is not in a Tainted Land biome, it will begin losing health at a rate of 1 HP/second. However, it will not turn red when taking damage from being in the wrong biome.

Tips[]

Since Taint Spore Swarmers cannot move, they can be easily taken out from a distance using a ranged weapon. Striking it continuously with a sword will also help in taking it out eventually.

Taint Spore Swarmers can also be killed by droping a block of sand or gravel on it in order to suffocate it.
