Silverwood saplings are mystical saplings that can be grown into silverwood trees.
Obtaining[]
Breaking[]
Silverwood saplings can be broken with any tool, and drop themselves when broken.
Leaves[]
When silverwood leaves decay or are broken with any tool other than shears, a silverwood sapling has a 1⁄250 chance to drop. This chance is not affected by tools enchanted with Fortune.
It is worth noting that the exceptionally low drop rate of saplings combined with the comparatively low quantity of leaves found on silverwood trees means it is very common for a silverwood to drop no saplings at all when cut down. Considering the silverwood's relative rarity in the Overworld, it is risky to attempt to cut one down to obtain saplings from its leaves.
Trading[]
Silverwood saplings may occasionally be offered up for trade by Pech.
Usage[]
Silverwood saplings may be placed by the player on grass blocks, dirt, coarse dirt, or podzol as decoration.
Light source[]
Silverwood saplings emit a respectable light level of 7, equivalent to that of a redstone torch. They share this property with shimmerleafs, cinderpearls, and vishrooms.
Growing trees[]

Silverwood saplings can grow into silverwood trees by planting them in a suitable location and waiting.
In order to grow, a silverwood sapling must have a lollipop-shaped volume above it clear of obstructions. This "lollipop" can be anywhere from a minimum of 9 blocks tall (not including the layer containing the sapling itself) to a maximum of 14 blocks, where the three topmost layers seen from above have a 7x7 area, and all layers below have a 3x3 area. The 3x3 area around the sapling itself does not need to be free of obstructions. Any blocks in this area will be deleted when the tree grows.
When it receives a random block tick, a planted silverwood sapling has a 1⁄50 chance to grow into a silverwood tree, as long as the block light level above the sapling is 9 or greater. Unlike vanilla Minecraft saplings, bone meal cannot be used to accelerate their growth; however, both the Hoe of Growth and the Lamp of Growth can. Using a Hoe of Growth will immediately grow the sapling into a tree without fail regardless of the block light level, assuming all other requirements are met.
