Overview Edit

The Osmotic Enchanter is a type of enchantment table introduced in the Thaumic Tinkering add-on. This contraption allows you to choose the type of enchantment you want to be enchanted on an item. Instead of using experience, vis from your wand will be used to enchant the item. The wand must have a golden cap or better for the Enchanter to function. When set up (see excerpt), the player places their wand and the object they would like to enchant into the spaces on the GUI. They will get many options for enchanting each with base costs in vis. These will be drained from the wand when the enchantment is started. Once the player selects their options, they click the red "start enchanting" button. Once clicked, the enchanter will try to take out vis from the wand and if successful, will enchant the object. Note that the enchanter provides options for vanilla, modded, and special thaumic tinkerer enchantments (once researched).

The Osmotic Enchanter is created via infusion crafting.

Instability: Dangerous

Central pedestal: Enchantment table

Outer pedestal: 5 Obsidian Tile, 2 Thaumium Ingot, and 1 Spellbinding Cloth.

Aspects: 50 Praecantatio, 20 Alienis, 20 Potentia, 20 Vacuos, and 10 Cognitio

In order to use the Osmotic Enchanter, there must be 6 pillars within 4 blocks of the Osmotic Enchanter.

The Pillars needs to made from Obsidian Totem blocks, 2-12 blocks high. A piece of Nitor is required on top of each pillar.

WARNING: Do not ward the Totems with the wand of warding, it will block the vis from traveling through the totems into the object.

Thaumonomicon ExcerptEdit

You grew tired of getting terrible enchantments for your efforts. To that, you created a new enchantment table that allows you to pick what enchantments you want to apply to an item.

This new contraption requires a wand, each enchantment requires a specific combination of vis from that wand. The price of the enchantment is exponentially proportional to the level you want to apply.

Regular enchantment rules apply; for example, you can't combine Silk Touch with Fortune.

After you selected the enchantments you want on an item, clicking the red button in the interface will start the enchanting process. As the item is being enchanted, you can't take it out of the table nor can you change the enchantments you are putting on it.

The table will slowly drain vis from the wand until it's done. For this to work, there needs to be 6 pillars in the nearby vicinity (4 blocks); these pillars need to be at the same level of the table. The pillars need to be made of two to twelve Obsidian Totem blocks stacked on top of each other, with a piece of Nitor on top of them. The enchanter will get flux energy from them, grabbing vis from the wand and combing them to enchant the item.

Lastly, the enchanter will cease to function with iron or copper-capped wands, due to them being too rustic and basic for the complex infusion required.
